Pendulum Boards - What are they?
Pendulums, what exactly are they and what kind is best for me?
A pendulum is a tool that is used to help your spirit guides communicate with you through your subconscious mind. It taps into your natural intuition to guide you in decision making questions, asked in simple yes or no questions. When you put your faith and belief into your pendulum, you will receive guidance from your spiritual guides. However, you must have an open mind.
A good rule of thumb is to stick to the following types of questions:
“Should I…?”, “Will I…?”, “Can I…?”
You can use different types of material – depending on what type of questions you are asking. For example, if you are wondering if you should talk to a certain person, a sodalite or lapis lazuli pendulum may be a good option for. If you are asking a question regarding romance, a rhodonite or rose quarts pendulum may be best. Other items such as keys, your favorite necklace or beads can also be used as pendulums.
Remember, you are tapping into your own subconscious mind, so it is best to stick to asking questions about yourself, rather than others at first.
Pendulums can be use with or without a board. If you will be using your pendulum freehand, make sure to set your answers and be clear with yourself. For example:
Side to Side = No
Up and Down = Yes
Diagonal = Maybe / Clarify Question
These can be exactly as I wrote them above or you can set them completely how you want. That is the beauty of the craft, you set your own rules and intentions.
Pendulum Boards
Just as pendulums, a pendulum board can be crafted out of a variety of materials. You can draw your own at home or print one you find on the internet. The options are endless, some are made of metal or plastic, but my all-time favorites are our wood pendulum boards! Being made from wood, it helps me remember to stay grounded and rooted during my session with my board and pendulum to get a clear answer. Depending on what types of questions you plan on asking your board as well as your personal style, will determine which type of material is best for you!
