How it is formed: Tiger’s eye is of the Quartz family and has a distinct look due to its striped chatoyance (luminous appearance.) Once a crociodolite made primarily of iron and sodium, the Quartz will embed itself in between the crociodolite and can transform into two different gemstones, hawks eye or tigers eye. The Quartz completely overtakes the crocidolite and the iron and sodium creates the Tigers Eye’s golden glimmer! It is usually formed in metamorphic rock and is primarily found in Australia, South Africa, Brazil, China, Canada, Namibia, India, Korea and the United States.
