How it is formed: Known for its beautiful rosy pink color, rose quartz is one of the most abundant crystals in the world, even though it does not actually form crystals; the crystal fibers are microscopic inclusions within the quartz. Rose quartz occurs in pegmatites in large translucent forms, it is never fully transparent but often gets confused with its cousin, pink Quartz. Rose quartz forms in high temperatures above 700*F to almost 1300*F- that’s hot! It comes from all over but is mined commercially in Brazil, Madagascar, South Africa, South Dakota in the United States, and Namibia.
