How it is formed: Also known as “rock quartz,” clear quartz are commonly formed in igneous rocks (created deep in the earth with high levels of heat) or places with warm waters, although it can also form at all temperatures. Pure Quartz is clear, but is the base of many minerals we know and love, like amethyst, citrine, rose quartz, and even sand with high silica content!
