How it is formed: The reason this form of Jasper is red is due to its iron inclusions! Red Jasper is most prevalently found in Brazil, Australia, Russia, Egypt, the United States, and India. It is part of the chalcedony (Quartz) family and formed from a sedimentary rock called chert which is created and mined deep in the earth's crust.
