How it is formed: Bloodstone is a green chalcedony with red “splatter” details and is a cousin to agate, claimed to be one of the first gemstones used in human history. In its purest form, the green color is derived from chlorite and the red is from iron oxide. Bloodstone can be found in Australia, China, Brazil, India, the Czech Republic, Russia, Germany, the United States, and Scotland
