How it is formed: Rhodonite was discovered in the Russian Ural Mountains in the 1790’s, and usually appears within manganese-rich metamorphic rocks. It is a rare find and is only available in a few small sources from around the world, like Australia, Sweden, England, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Peru, India, and a few states in the US.
Color: transparent pink & red, but can brown or yellow due to oxidation
