How it is formed: : Zeolites were discovered in 1756 and are fascinating and unique due to its chemical composition being useful in the industrial realm, as well as every place it’s mined from has different mineral structure and quality due to environmental surroundings- there are over 229 frameworks as of 2015, and large scale mining only began in the 1960s! They come from volcanic rock, ash sediments, and alkaline groundwater, and are produced over thousands of years. Zeolite even has the ability to absorb odors and toxins, mainly ammonia and ammonium.
