My Boyfriend River & Our Pup Trio

River and Me with the Dogs at the Mountain.JPG

River and I met when we both were in low parts of our lives. We were both dealing with personal issues and had decided to just focus on ourselves. Apparently, we were both lonely on Valentines Day in 2020 and ended up swiping right to each other on Tinder. 🙈

We would end up talking all day and all night by text for the next few days until I eventually invited him over to my apartment. I remember him texting me telling me he was on his way and my heart just pounding out of my chest. I have never been the type to dress up so I was in camo PJ bottoms and a tank top… I keep asking myself if I was crazy for being in PJs when meeting a guy for the first time! I ended up staying in them because, well, that’s just who I am!

He knocked on the door and I quickly jumped up to open it. I remember the butterflies fluttering in every ounce of my body as I saw this tall, dark haired man, smiling back at me and shyly say “ Hey.” I smiled back and said “Hi” while going in for a hug. (Can’t miss that opportunity! blush)

We sat on the couch and started talking about our day, then his truck, then my trip, this is past couple jobs, my job, his family, my family, my pets, his pets, EVERYTHING. We couldn’t shut up. That was pretty much it. From the first night, we were both hooked. Shortly after we were going on trips to Tucson, Sedona, and Colorado together and next thing you know - my apartment is packed up and we are moving an hour away from our hometown together.

In March of 2020 before we moved in together, we were supposed to be headed to Tucson for an award ceremony that River was a nominee for. Unfortunately, due to COVID, it got rescheduled then ultimately, cancelled. However, we had already booked an air b & b and took time off work so we decided to book a zipline tour and enjoy each other and a road trip.

While on a road to the ziplining place, there was a pup in the back of a pick up truck that looked so happy. So of course I pointed him out to River and we got all excited about how cute he was! I said that he looked like his name would be Bongo. We started talking about what we would name a dog if we ever got one together and made a pact that if we ever moved in together an adopted a dog, we would name him Bongo!

We moved in together and shortly after, Bongo arrived too as we promised each other. Zoey was happy to get a brother but did not want to play like Bongo wanted to so Ranger came into the family to keep Bongo busy! Together all three of them love to run at the mountain and swim in our pool!

I am so thankful to have this family and be apart of such accepting and fun household!
